Working Our Worm Farm

On rainy days, the farm is not the best place for our farm team to meet. We had a rainy day this week and needed a plan b. That was easy, since we are indoor as well as outdoor farmers. We decided to work with our worm farm.

We have several worm bins throughout our school and those worms keep cranking out rich vermicompost. We add our fruit and veggie scraps as well as our coffee grounds and wahlah.., vermicompost, a natural, organic way to ammend our soil on the farm.

The kids really enjoyed it. There was a lot of hands on work and tons of funny "save the worm" jokes. It was a great afternoon with a great harvest of gold for our farm.
