Rain or Shine, We Love Sharing Our Farm With Friends!

This past week, we had some visitors from the American Heart Association and Slow Foods stop by during Farm Club. We had umbrellas cued for our current Seattle-like weather, so that a little rain wouldn't get in our way. As always, it was a great time and community connector with really interesting folks. Thanks to the 4th Grade Girls Farm Club for your hospitality!

Mothers Day After School Magic

Our Mother's Day gift making event was a great success. We really love our Mamas! The kids planted coleus from the farm into cute little painted cans and added some personal touches to them. They made some yummy salad dressing and special cards to give to mom on her big day. It was a great time! Look for more farm crafting fun to come our way on Fathers Day and other holidays in the upcoming months. Thanks for your support! We hope it was a wonderful day!

Farm Days Are The Best Days

Working on the Farm and Harvest Days are always a great opportunity to connect curriculum that is taught in classrooms. The kids are great at discovering cool bugs or odd shaped veggies and then asking questions about the why. With all of the rain that we have had, our crops are not growing the way that we have expected, so that gave us opportunity to talk about the water cycle, saturation, and the needs of plants. We harvested so much garlic that our entire school building smelled like an Italian restaurant. If some made it home in a backpack, I hope that you enjoyed it at home. It's been a great year on the Farm and we look forward to many years to come!
