Farming in January

January farm chores continue, but the pace slows down a bit as cooler temperatures and moisture keep our crops healthy and growing. The plants that were added by the students in December are ready to harvest this week. Then we will make room for our Spring crops to be put in the beds later this month. Warmer temperatures this month brought classes out to learn on the farm. We are thankful for this outdoor classroom where kids can learn and grow with the land. This week, all of our students will be working with the Master Gardeners on the Farm. Lessons will include making seed bombs, using multiplication arrays to plant carrot seeds, harvesting crops, planting potatoes, and grade level specific learning objectives under the Teaching Tree with Farmer Aman.
