Chicken Suppliers We Love

When you have a coop full of chickens, you have to have a source for chicken supplies. In our area, we have several to choose from. Each one is a great resource. Check them out!

A new local Lake Highlands hardware / urban farming store opened recently and we are big fans! They have all the chicken supplies that you will need to bring a flock to your house. They also have great hardware, tools, plants and gift items with awesome friendly customer service!

North Haven Garden Center has been around for some time. Their staff can offer assistance for all of your gardening needs. They offer high quality plants, garden supplies and chickens. Farmer Dan brings chicks out regularly to sell. Check out their website for more chicken information.

A stop into Roach Feed And Seed takes you back in time. This chicken supplier has been in business for 80 years. The facility has largely remained the same, with the original wood floors and the smell of sweet feed.  They have a wide range of items that they sell, from hay bails to seeds to insecticides and chicken scratch. Just an added bonus when you come to shop for chicken supplies.

Trinity Haymarket has been in business for over a year. They offer non-GMO, non-soy, and organic feeds, as well as supplies and tools for the small-scale farmer. They also have many locally grown products that they promote in their store and of course they sell chickens. They were very helpful and even offer a delivery service.

At Southland Feed Store you can pick up all the chicken supplies that you need. They have everything from bedding, to feeders to all types of chicken food. The staff is very knowledgeable and can help you with all of your chicken needs.

Tractor Supply is a national chain of stores and doesn't have that local sense of community, but they have chicken supplies nonetheless. You can also pick up some tools and Wrangler jeans when you are out that way.

Eden's Organic Garden Center is very local and in addition to chickens, they offer a summer long CSA or Community Supported Agriculture program. They are open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of April - October, so plan accordingly.

Our community of chicken farmers continues to grow, as does the list of folks who provide chicken supplies. Keep these suppliers in mind when you start off to begin your own flock at home.
