When The USDA Comes To Town..., We Invite Them To The Farm Of Course

  1. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is an agency that oversees the American farming industry. USDA duties range from helping farmers with price support subsidies, to inspecting food to ensure the safety of the American public. We were thrilled to have them stop by for a visit to Moss Haven Farm.

Principal Henderson and our student farmers led them on a tour of our gardens and chicken coop. They learned about our compost program, solar panel, water collection system and of course our chickens.

We love the leadership opportunities that are ever present with our farm program. Our students are growing up producing food, tending to animals and learning to care for the land. We are creating Stewards of the Earth and we are all the better for that.
