Each six weeks, we bring every student out to the farm for Master Gardener On The Farm Day. Everyone looks forward to these and last week was no exception. The students learned about molting and why chickens molt, since Sweetie, one of our own chickens is in the middle of a molt. They also learned about holiday plants and their origin, how they are used and why we use them in our holiday customs. Then the student farmers checked their crops and pruned and harvested many radishes. As always, it was a day of new growth for our plants and our kids.
