Cooking With Kids

The key to cooking with kids is in the planning. In many cases, time is also a factor. With good planning comes easy cooking. I always break the kids up into groups. Then I set out the ingredients, recipes and the tools that they will need to be successful.

Food is a great tool for learning. It is a common ground and really doesn't require much skill to prepare. With that being said, everybody experiences high level success in the end with tasty creations that they are proud of.

Cooking creates bonds, memories and enjoyment that last a lifetime! Kids are good at it! Get them in your kitchen too.

Lady Beetles And Mrs. Diggs

Our farm is so lucky to have expert volunteers on hand! We work with the Dallas Master Gardeners who volunteer countless hours on our farm. A special Master Gardener friend is Mrs. Diggs. She comes to farm club and works with all of our after school farmers. She taught us about the magic of lady beetles. The kids loved it!

Bright red lady beetles are always a hit on the farm! Mrs. Diggs is too!

We Love Chickens

Yep.., it has been 2 months since our feathered friends joined our community and we continue to adore them! Many kids have learned the art of chicken handling and want to hang out with the chickens as much as they can.

The chickens are real happy too! They love our delicious compost treats and being treated like royalty. We have big plans to build up our poultry program in the Fall. In the meantime, stop by and stick some yummy green grass through the fence and our chickens will adore you too.
