We are so excited to have the student farmers back on the farm! Farm learning is in full swing and this year, we are working at ways to incorporate lessons on the Farm with grade level curriculum. Farm Club will be offered to 5th and 6th graders, and the all students will have more frequent lessons with direct connections to their specific grade level objectives. We are really excited about this new programming and can't wait to share all the learning and growing that will come from having a farm at school.
All Kinder classes have already made a trip to the farm where they learned about Rules and Tools, and of course our new chickens.
We love our friends from afar who send us cool things to try. Thanks to Slow Food USA and Chipotle for giving us some seeds to plant in our History Garden.
We also started our new recess/lunch initiative where students play and then eat. This system is based on data and research that has shown that when kids play first, they eat more and there is less food waste. So, it's good for the environment and good for our kids' health.
